Mission/Vision
Nurture Each Other in Faith
At House of Healings, we pursue the Glory of God through worship, ministry, giving and education. We strive to connect with Jesus Christ and to each other, in order to magnify His name. At the heart of everything we do is the understanding that we must love God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and to treat our neighbours as we wish to be treated ourselves.
What We Believe
The Building Blocks of Our Prayer
For over 100 years, we have striven to create a strong community driven by the teachings of Jesus Christ, which are the guiding force in the lives of our growing congregation. Through our worship, activities and special community, we give our members the chance to become fully immersed in the wisdom and teachings of the Lord. There in Scripture we find the Faith Building Blocks for effective Prayer..."pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (or woman) availeth much” (James 5:16)
About Biblical Faith
Healing
Prayer, Faith & Healing 101 - What's it all about?
The Bible, which is the most read book in history with over 5 billion copies sold, while generous societies like “The Gideons” have distributed thousands, maybe millions of copies to students, hotels and other worthy recipients. It has been translated into 700 languages completely, with at least one book of the Bible being translated into over 3,500 languages and dialects. According to Facts.net, some 20 million Bibles are purchased annually in the United States alone, with 92% of all Americans possessing one or more — the average Christian has nine copies of the good book. In total, the holy book moves 100 million copies a year. The Bible encourages us to seek healing through prayer and faith in God. The Bible's veracity has been verified by believers and non-believers alike, repeatedly. Let's examine this a little. Archaeological evidence: Archaeological discoveries have repeatedly confirmed the accuracy of Biblical places, events, and people. Historical prophecies: The Bible according to the Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy, lists 1,239 prophecies in the Old Testament and 578 prophecies in the New Testament, for a total of 1,817. These encompass 8,352 verses and thousands of testable historical prophecies, cases in which events were clearly foretold, and both the foretelling and the fulfillment are a matter of historical record. Manuscript evidence: The Bible was written in three different languages over a period of approximately 1500 years by more than 40 authors. Nonetheless, the Bible is unique in its unity of theme (man’s fall and ultimate redemption) from beginning to end. Scientific accuracy: From astronomy to medicine and beyond, biblical claims are proven true by scientific research. It is important to note that while these facts provide evidence for the Bible’s veracity, faith is ultimately a personal choice and cannot be proven by empirical evidence alone. The Bible contains numerous scriptures that support healing by followers of Christ. Here are just a few: Jeremiah 30:17: “I will restore your health, & heal your wounds,” declares the Lord. Mark 6:56: “And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak. And as many as touched it were made well.” James 5:15: “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” 1 Peter 5:10: “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” The Prayer of Faith and resulting Healings have been around for centuries. At times, Healing has involved the Biblical admonition of Prayer along with the laying on of hands, and other spiritual practices such as anointing with oil or prayer cloths, to promote both physical, and emotional relief. There have been those who have been uniquely blessed by God, gifting them with the healing of many people over the decades. However, Healing through Prayer & Faith has been executed by many Christian believers since the book of Acts. The term "Faith Healer" is somewhat of a label by the media and others to attempt with their limited understanding, to describe what they have heard or observed. Many Christians along with those used by the Lord in this manner dislike the term as it tends to focus on an individual who God is working through, rather than a focus on Jesus Christ, our Healer. The so-called "Faith Healers" I have mentioned herein, all will insist the focus is, and should be, on God, and His Son Jesus Christ, and not on any human person. Some may insist that Healing was only for Christ's day. Although opinions abound on this issue, we at the House of Healings, have been personal witnesses to many dozens of Healings throughout our Christian lives.Hebrews 13:8 states that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Matthew 10:8, Jesus prompted His commissioned disciples to heal the sick among other powerful initiatives. Since the dawn of the church age, there has not been a century without powerful stories of God’s intervention in people's lives through the power of his Word coupled with faith. Regarding "Faith Healers", as they are known, there have been many well documented ministries, from around the world, who are known for their ability to call on God for healing. Through their Prayers & Faith in Christ, people have and continue to experience miracles in their lives. While it is difficult to determine the exact number of faith ministries used in the realm of healing in the world, it is estimated that there are thousands of them. These healers come from different religious backgrounds, have different approaches to Healing, different emphasis on the Holy Spirit, differing comprehensions of the Triune nature of God, but they all share a common focus; facilitate people to overcome their physical and emotional afflictions, and experience the Healing Power of God's Love. Some of the more notable healing ministries of our time include Benny Hinn, Kathryn Kuhlman, and Oral Roberts, to name a few. Benny Hinn is a televangelist who is known for his faith healing ministry. He has been involved in many controversies over the years, but his followers believe that he has the gift of healing, through the power of Jesus Christ in Prayer & Faith. The much publicized and widely documented faith ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman was known for her gift to heal people with incurable diseases. Many documented Healings, indeed miracles, were witnessed by countless thousands. She was renowned for her quick glance toward Heaven, a short Prayer, a small wave or motion of her hands, and the crippled walked, bones grew, and broken limbs Healed. She was a popular speaker and author, while yet today there is no shortage of honest believers who can recall those fabulous gatherings throughout Canada and the U.S.A. while her teachings continue to inspire people today. Out of print now, her most notable book was I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES. And indeed she did because the sacred scriptures attest to the same. Oral Roberts was another famous faith healer who founded Oral Roberts University, which is well renowned, and still very active today. He was known for his gifted preaching to inspire faith in thousands who witnessed obvious changes in people’s bodies through the Prayer of faith. Roberts was considered a pioneer in the faith healing movement, which is still alive today. At the House of Healings, we believe that healing is a holistic process that involves the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. We are committed to providing you with the tools, and resources one needs, to Pray for your health and well-being. Whether you are struggling with physical pain, emotional trauma, or spiritual distress, we are here to Pray for your needs. Our teams of "Prayer Warriors", an interesting term, but pretty accurate all the same, will partner with you in Prayer. We also have a group of Global Intercessors, who will join us in Prayer for your requests. Through our global connections you may have dozens or hundreds of people, partnering with you in Prayer & in Faith, believing for your answers from God, and your personal Healing. We believe that everyone, anyone, can receive Healing through the Power of God in Prayer and Faith believing, and we are here to support you on your journey to your own personal miracle. Yes... they still do happen!
